Die Broschüre „Palmöl geht auch anders! Nachhaltige Palmölproduktion durch Kleinbauernförderung und -zertifizierung“ informiert Sie über Hintergründe, die aktuelle Diskussion um Nachhaltigkeit sowie die damit verbundenen Entwicklungsmöglichkeiten für den Ländlichen Raum. Das thailändisch-deutsche Projekt „Nachhaltige Palmölproduktion“, gefördert durch die Klimaschutzinitiative des Bundesumweltministeriums, unterstützt den thailändischen Palmölsektor dabei, internationale Nachhaltigkeitsstandards – wie zum Beispiel den RSPO – einzuführen. Darüber hinaus erhalten Kleinbauern gezielte Unterstützung, damit sie sich zertifizieren lassen können und aus einer Zertifizierung auch Vorteile erzielen. Die GTZ hat in Thailand gemeinsam mit Palmölmühlen und Kleinbauern ein Modell entwickelt, wie alle Beteiligten von einer verbesserten Zusammenarbeit und der Nachhaltigkeitszertifizierung profitieren können.

The brochure “ Palm Oil – sustainability is possible! Promotion and certification of smallholders helps sustainable palm oil production” informs you about the background, the current debate on sustainability and related development opportunities for rural areas. The Thai-German project “Sustainable Palm Oil Production”, funded by the Climate Initiative of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety supports the Thai palm oil sector to introduce international standards of sustainability – such as the RSPO. It will also provide targeted support to small farmers so that they can get certified and enjoy the advantages from certification. The GTZ has developed in Thailand together with palm oil mills and small farmers, a model that can benefit all parties as from an improved cooperation and sustainability certification.
