Copenhagen, 14 Dec 2009. The event brought outputs from Agriculture Day and Forest Day to the negotiating floor at the UNFCCC climate change talks.
Leaders of international development and research organisations discussed outcomes from recent dialogues on agriculture, food security and climate change, and the need to shape the global agenda for forests and agriculture in a warming world.
Stakeholders agreed on the importance of following an integrated approach to maximise the mitigation and adaptation potential of both sectors and advocated a work programme on agriculture under SBSTA.

Panelists and members of the audience were then asked to field ideas to elaborate the statement to be forwarded to negotiators in the COP15 process, the outcomes of which is the joint statement of the side event stakeholders.
